Welcome to the Koo Koose Grille
Here at the Koo Koose Grille, we like to think we’re doing something a little different.
Our goal is to create a local gathering spot - a place where our friends, neighbors, and travelers alike can come in and have a great meal with a glass of wine or a cold beer, and be surrounded by Deposit's fascinating history in vintage photographs, etchings, signs and logging paraphernalia.
The name we chose, the Koo Koose Grille,
has a significant history:
When European travelers began settling the area along the Delaware River where Deposit now stands, the Native American population called the area "Koo Koose", meaning a place of many owls.
Chef Steve and his wife Sue spent the last twenty some years working all over the country. They found themselves on Anna Maria Island on the Gulf Coast of Florida, on Orcas Island in Washington state, in Ruidoso New Mexico, Austin Texas, Alta Utah, and now the Catskill Mountains of New York. As the Grille has developed, we have attempted to meld the many different cuisines from these diverse areas to create a memorable dining experience for anyone that comes in to enjoy a meal.
We strive to source as many regional, "farm to fork" artisan foodstuffs as we can to hopefully offer a healthier, fresher meal, and to help support our local farms and farmers.
Join us - for a meal, and a moment in time.
